Description

  • Emerson, Lake & Palmer released their fourth album "Brain Salad Surgery" in November 1973 on their own Manticore Records which was distributed by Atlantic Records. It was as huge hit in both the U.S. and U.K. and the cover features art by H.R. Giger. Key tracks include "Still... You Turn Me On," "Jerusalem," and multiple "Karn Evil 9" Impressions.

  • This copy of (MS 66669) is from the First Pressing and is in excellent condition. The unusual die-cut fold-out cover has some light wear but is easily VG+ and the original die-cut 33" x 22" Color Poster with lyrics is in mint condition. Please see the pictures. The disc test plays cleanly and is also VG+ which is as high as I go on vintage vinyl. It was mastered by Specialty Records Corp. (SRC) in Olyphant, PA and this copy was pressed by Monarch Record Mfg. Co. (MR) in Los Angeles. The Side One dead wax is etched ST-MC-732991-G-EX with a stamped Monarch logo (MR) and (SRC) logo, and then etched AT ?18493-X (6).

  • In addition to its original packaging, this album will come with a high quality Anti-Static Round Bottom Inner Sleeve to hold the vinyl disc and a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve.

  • Free shipping is included in the special corrugated album mailer seen in the last picture.

  • This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 48 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
