REVIEW
When ELP finished their summer ’72 tour of the US, they traveled back to England. After headlining the NME Poll Winner’s concert on September 30th at the Oval Cricket Ground, they spent three weeks touring England and Scotland from November 10th to December 1st. Hammersmith Odeon would be their only date in London.
This is one of the most intense and inventive ELP shows captured on tape. By this poing “Tarkus” went through another change in its constantly evolving stage life. Reaching twenty-five minutes, it is preceded and ends with what sounds like Tarkus itself roaring in anger. Emerson favors missile sounds during the long “Aquatarkus” improvisation in the pieces’ latter half as well as references to J.S. Bach’s second piano concerto and other ditties.
“The Endless Enigma” is played for the final known time. It doesn’t appear on the tape for the following night in Brighton and there are no known tapes for the two Newcastle shows and final night in Dundee. Afterwards they play twenty-five seconds of “The Sign Of The Swinging Cymbal.” This tune was composed by Brian Fahey and was well known as the weekly opening theme for Alan Freeman’s “Pick Of The Pops” on the BBC. ELP began playing it the November 15th show in Bradford and was included in all the subsequent shows.
“Pictures At An Exhibition” is again very intense with very strange moog sounds being favored by Emerson for the melodies. “Nutrocker” is segued with a seventeen minute “Rondo.” Palmer has his very long drum solo in the middle and experiments with some truly strange sounding drums. The rest of the band come in again to complete the piece. ELP reached a high degree of popularity at this time and most of the shows on this tour were taped from the audience.

All items with a single or combined selling price of £30 or over MUST be sent by insured (trackable) shipping, at an added cost of £1.30 (£6 overseas) which will be added to your invoice. This is in accordance with Ebay & PayPal rules & is designed to protect us both.
Occasionally items might cost more to ship than the prices stated, for example heavyweight vinyl / gatefold sleeves & extra solid packaging (recommended for more expensive items), which may make the weight in excess of 500g. PLEASE ALWAYS WAIT FOR YOUR INVOICE! I will give you the choice of shipping costs. Please note that the cheapest shipping option for 12" records will usually only provide you with an envelope mailer & ONE stiffener because any extra packaging would make your parcel exceed 500g & would therefore cost more to ship. Please choose the 2nd (more expensive) option for more expensive items & peace of mind!
All records are shipped with the vinyl separated from any picture sleeves (inner & outer), & placed in a plain sleeve outside the picture sleeve to avoid seam splits during shipping.
Discounted (combined) shipping for multiple wins
All items should be shipped within 3 - 5 days of payment.
Please note that due to long term illness I am sometimes unable to meet shipping deadlines, therefore please be advised that your order might be delayed due to illness & therefore your patience would be much appreciated, however I will do my best to fulfil all orders as soon as possible.
Your payment is expected within 7 days of auctions end. Please contact me beforehand if you have any difficulties with this. I am not unreasonable & will do my best to come to an arrangement which suits us both. Unpaid item claims will be filed if I do not hear from you within 7 days of auctions end
DISCLAIMER (the boring part, due to rather unscrupulous ebayers.... you know who you are!) All items are listed to the best of my knowledge & ability, & describe any possible faults. However a fault is only classified as irreparable or irreplaceable damage to the item, from (mis)use whether accidental, intentional, or in the actual manufacturing process. Anything which can be easily (cheaply) replaced or repaired without deterioration to the actual product is not classified as a fault & therefore is probably not mentioned. Examples include easily replaceable items like defaced or damaged plain dust (inner/outer) bags, CD jewel cases, & unglued picture sleeves which have simply come apart due to the glue drying up due to age & can easily be repaired. However in instances like this, I prefer to leave the item as 'authentic', than risk damaging it by attempting to reglue it
Any complaints??? Please contact me BEFORE leaving possible neutral or negative feedback, & I will do my best to resolve your problem!
Thanx for looking!!!
