Background -
The Climax Blues Band (originally known as the Climax Chicago Blues Band) are a British blues rock band. The band was formed in Stafford, England in 1968 by vocalist and harmonica player Colin Cooper (1939-2008), guitarist and vocalist Pete Haycock (1951-2013), guitarist Derek Holt (b. 1949), bassist and keyboardist Richard Jones (b. 1949), drummer George Newsome (b. 1947), and keyboardist Arthur Wood (1929-2005).In 1972 the group shortened its name to the Climax Blues Band due to pressure from the American band Chicago Transit Authority. The band has released at least 17 albums and had a Top 10 hit in the UK with "Couldn't Get It Right". That song and "I Love You" were American hits as well; "Couldn't Get It Right" reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1977, and "I Love You" peaked at No. 12 in 1981.
Jones left the group in 1969, so Holt switched to bass. They switched to Harvest Records in 1970 and their records had a more rock-oriented feel. John Cuffley replaced Newsome in 1971.
Tightly Knit is the group's 1971 album. By this point in time the group settled into a very comfortable groove and suddenly didn't seem to be trying so hard, instead letting the music speak for itself. This new found confidence is also mirrored in the fact that eight of the ten tunes aboard are group-penned originals. While they show some versatility on tunes like "Little Link" and "Shoot Her if She Runs" (both exhibiting a strong country rock flavor), they still manage to sound like no one else but the Climax Blues Band on such familiar warhorses as "Spoonful" and Robert Johnson's "Come on in My Kitchen." Peter Haycock's lead guitar reaches scorching levels on the almost-ten-minute-long "St. Michael's Blues"; "Who Killed McSwiggin" explores the Bo Diddley beat for all its worth, and the closing "That's All" takes the pan-flute New Orleans groove into folk-singalong territory, making a top-notch finish for the group's most varied outing. ~ Cub Koda, All Music Guide

CONDITION Details:
The LP jacket is in near mint minus condition! The jacket is tight and clean, with NO seam splits, with a name written on the back cover which is barely visible (see picture of the back of the jacket for this detail). The corners are solid, with just a bit of shelf wear the seams and corners. The colors on the jacket are sharp. The jacket has the flipped over "clam shell" seams at the top, bottom and spine...just gorgeous (see pictures with this listing as they are of the actual item).
The LP is in near mint minus condition! We found that the vinyl looked superb on this vintage LP. There are no significant marks and the LP retains much of the original gloss and sheen - obviously well taken care of! There are NO serious spindle marks on the record labels either. Just beautiful UK made vinyl!A Short Note About LP GRADING -

- Near Mint = Virtually flawless in every way.
- Near Mint Minus = Item has some minor imperfections, some audible.
- Excellent = Item obviously played and enjoyed with some noise.
