EMI / Parlophone – Urgent – Special Rush Copy Top Pop Demo Sleeve, c1960-62

This is a decent example of a paper record sleeve that once contained a Demo / Demonstration single from one of the EMI labels – including Parlophone, and so also including the early Beatles’ demos. It is printed in blue and red on white paper. (I have seen the same design printed in blue and black). As my pictures show, it does have some creasing. But there is no writing anywhere – no rips either at the edges or the centre-hole. Also there are no splits on the edges. I don’t usually grade paper sleeves but in this case I would say it was slightly better than VG.
