Eolika -- Vokali-instrumentala grupa «EOLIKA» 7"EP

Original 1970 Soviet release on Melodiya (USSR) (catalog # 33?-00028451-52), in Picture Sleeve.

Rare original 1970 EP from this Latvian prog band. Their LP is described as groove funk and while there's an element of that on this EP, certainly much more so than on most any Melodiya record, the sound is much more psychedelic and prog-folk than just groovy. "Es Tevi Samekleetu" especially is an out psych-prog track just as good as anything any bands in UK, US or Germany were doing in 1970.

sovietgroove review: An outstanding band. Wonderful floreal ethereal folk progressive music. Eerie floydian lines in the splendid 1st track and experimental funny floyd's Jugband in the last. A bit of harmonic Canterbury everywhere while the 2nd track reminds me of English band Catapilla. Fantastic vocals work and choralities.

CONDITION: Sleeve VG++ / Vinyl VG+   excellent shape, vinyl plays well with a little light surface noise in a few parts.
