This really was the birth of progressive rock! It was the Beatles' 9th Lp and what an imapact it had. and still does have. Released on the 1st of June 1967, the album reached number 1 across the board, staying at number 1 for 23 weeks!! With a total of 148 weeks in the charts!!

After giving her a gentle vacuum clean, I have just finished listening to the whole album and found there to be lovely rich audio, WITHOUT any nasty pops or even background noise. Visually there are some light scuff marks, evident when angled towards the light but these DID NOT register on playback-I played her loud and with a very light arm setting too :)

Even the run-ins and outs were as silent as you could ever want.

Sounds FAB-turn her up-I did!

Incredibly the end extended chord is fabulously clean and clear too!!

Just some light discolouration through age-like me. As well as the bottom seam being a little torn and split.

The Cover:

The main sleeve is unique, as on the photo of George Harrison in the inner gatefold sleeve, George can be seen to have a red eye ! Did George at the time of the photo shoot have an eye infection ? Or had he received a black eye some weeks earlier ? Is this a ‘Proof sleeve’ that was discarded by EMI, only for EMI to use the sleeve at the very last moment to get rid of their old Mono stock… intriguing indeed. The ‘red’ area around George’s eye is printed ‘under’ the laminate.

Have a look at your copy and see the difference-I will put an image of another mono copy in the listing, so you can see the difference.

The front, back and inside of this cover is still in SUPERB condition. The colours remain as vibrant today as they were in '67!....All this would make this cover a very unusual, top quality framed edition of a rare cover.

Only very slight and gentle knocks and light rubbing to the corners.

There are just a handful of small crescents of spidering and indentation to the front, with just fingers of spidering emanating from the seam to the back laminate.
