Description
Hello,
Selling one double side ,extremely rare, 1933 VINTAGE TRUSOUND LONDON PICTORIAL 78rpm DISC A1031.
563-2 If I Could Paint Your Picture On The Moon (Box,Cox)
562-3 When You Said "So Long" Did You Mean "Goodbye" (Box,Cox)
Recorded at Odoni's Restaurant, London SW1 around summer 1933.
As you can see by the pictures, for its 90 years, it is in average condition with some marks ,pin holes and age related staining.
Many were just displayed on the wall for probably many years.
It actually does play (played it once with a modern, light 78 stylus.)
For those that are not too sure about these rare picture 78's...Trusound was only around for a few years in the early 1930's and these 'A' series records were only made for a few months from summer 1933 to spring 1934.
The wonderful Art Deco images are pressed on celluloid laminated card discs. They measure 9 5/8".
On the rare occasions that these come up, often they are unplayable and many are in a worse condition than this one.
These discs are hard to value ,so I have based it on the same A1031 disc that was recently sold in August 2023 (excellent condition.)
Due to the little damage on the outside edge of the disc , the starting bid is less than half of the final price of the recent one sold.
Free post for UK.
Available to international buyers and sent via eBay’s Global Shipping Program.
Thank you for taking the time to look at this.
