*RARE* 1st A/B  PYE CONTRACT PRESSING
with the MISPRINT of "THANKYOU" & “She’s a Woman”…later changed to ‘She’s Just a Woman’

When this album was released in 1969 the Polydor pressing plant couldn't keep up with demand and had to reach across the pond to the US of A to keep up with demand...Contracting PYE to press these glorious slabs of vinyl, whilst they furiously continued on to meet the demand in the UK.
These rather rare pressings are easily identified by the etched matrix numbers, which simply end in 'A' and 'B' rather than their British counterparts ending with A5/B5 for example. PYE also made an error in the side B matrix-having had to then scratch out the 3rd digit (number 9)of the matrix and replace it with the number 8 just above the crossed out digit.
Not many of these were produced and even fewer exist today.

For further evidence of this rare 1st pressing is the misprinted title for track 4 on side A being "THANKYOU", rather than the correct "THANK YOU" as you will see on later copies, from both the PYE and Polydor pressing plants (as they both made this error).

So-that explains it's pressing rarity...and now for the condition of this one up for sale:

Also has the KT tax code etched at 12 O'clock on both sides-quite unusual!

I have just given here a gentle vacuum clean and wow-the audio popped right out!
Being one of my favourite albums of all time-it really wasn't a chore to listen to her through at HIGH volume!!
The stereo split on Ramble On is lovely and clear and always makes me smile.
This quality, heavyweight slab of vinyl has survived the test of time incredibly well. With just a few very light marks to the vinyl-they really didn't have any impact on playback...Other than a light and short lived, light revolutionary pop at the end of Thank You-which disappears before the fade out and back in-really nothing at all to worry about as I am being incredibly critical.
It is BY FAR the best PYE pressing of Zeppelin II I have ever heard.
CERTAINLY NO JUMPS, SKIPS OR STICKS ON MY FOCUS ONE DECK.
(Which is on an incredibly light setting)

She also carries the mistake for the last track on side 1: "THANKYOU"....without the space between the two words....As well as "SHE'S A WOMAN"...The earliest example you can find.

Gorgeously deep in colour-a SUPERB example.

The Cover:

 Original 1st printing LIGHT 'CHOCOLATE' coloured GATEFOLD cover with some light storage and handling wear to her-Please see the pictures provided...Just light rubbing to the edges and VERY LITTLE ring wear to the back of the gatefold-as was common with these 1st pressings.
To the front panel is a small patch of lifting-probably from removal of the price sticker. But fortunately this is in the white area and isn't immediately visible...Pleas see the detailed images.
SUPERBLY STRONG SPINE.
NO WRITING.
States "Lemon Song"as well as "Livin' Lovin' Maid" on the sleeve track listing.
NO SPLITS OR TEARS. Small sticker to the top right corner on the front-which I am sure could be removed easily enough-I have not tried.
Some light rubbing to the corners as well as some rubbing to the edges-but nothing bad at all.

 Double-windowed poly-lined inner sleeve in superb  -certainly did her job in looking after the vinyl.
Great shape, just some very light discolouration from age-but don't we all?!;)
