Eagles Desperado, one of the rarest Nimbus Supercut audiophile vinyl pressings, a holy grail release which is rarely seen for sale, in near mint condition. One of the Eagles' best releases, it features some of their best songs, including the title track 'Desperado'. This is one of the rarest Nimbus Supercut LPs and arguably rarer than the Sgt Pepper Supercut release.
The last example we sold with cover wear went for the same amount of £350, yet this example is in "near new" condition and is the best we have ever seen. LP is conservatively near mint and cover is near mint. This textured cover is usually easily worn (especially considering this release is now 26 years old), yet this 1 owner example is stunning. This is probably the best example of this album in the world - a 1 owner example in almost "time warp" condition!
Audiophile Mastering
Nimbus Supercut LPs were released as a mail order only promotion to Practical Hi-Fi and Hi-Fi today magazine readers during the early 1980s. All Nimbus Supercut releases were available in limited quantities of around 1000 pressings per title, and as such, many are rarely seen for sale and are arguably rarer than releases from Mobile Fidelity, Nautilus, DCC, etc. Nimbus established the need for high quality vinyl pressings at a time when most mainstream vinyl which was haphazardly mastered and pressed on poor quality recycled vinyl.
In contrast, Nimbus Supercut releases were mastered from the the original master tapes, through an all valve mastering process, using no limiting, to result in a high quality pressing which was as close as possible in sound to the original recording. Nimbus also had ICI produce an extremely pure vinyl for this release, which has exceptional frequency reproduction and is virtually noise free.
Condition
A one owner example, this LP is used, but was originally recorded onto cassette and has only been played a couple of times. According to Goldmine industry standards, the vinyl is near mint (NM). The cover and poly-lined inner sleeve are near mint (NM/NM).
