The Long Run est le sixième album studio des Eagles, sorti trois ans après le succès planétaire de Hotel California (1976). L’album a été conçu dans un contexte difficile, marqué par la fatigue, les conflits internes et la pression du succès. Musicalement, il propose un mélange de rock, ballades romantiques et d’influences soul, avec des paroles souvent plus sombres et désabusées. C’est aussi le premier album avec Timothy B. Schmit à la basse, remplaçant Randy Meisner.
The Long Run is the sixth studio album by the Eagles and the follow-up to their massive 1976 success, Hotel California. Released after a long and difficult recording process, it marked the end of the band’s first era before their breakup in 1980. The album blends rock, soul, and ballads, reflecting the band’s maturity and internal tensions. It was the first Eagles album to feature Timothy B. Schmit on bass, replacing Randy Meisner.
