Scarce and early 7" Pre-Dog Victor Record A-655 Manufactured by Eldridge R. Johnson shortly before he added the dog log to the Victor label.
"Good-bye Dolly Gray" - a song popular during the Spanish American War (not long before this was made) is sung by Harry Macdonough. Mr. Macdonough announces the title before the song begins. Recording date of 2 / 6 / 1901 appears engraved under the label (the "2" is not certain, but the other numbers are clear) . . Also, this might be take -2 (as an engraved "2" appears at the 9 o'clock position under the edge of the label) Condition is remarkably nice for this 115-year-old record. Visually about E- . . . although these primitive records are difficult to grade. It plays very well. . .
