Description
East Village – Back Between Pages 12” EP on Sub Aqua. Made in England. Tracks: Back Between Places; Her Father's Son; Precious Diamond Tears Classic British Indie Guitar Melancholic Jangle Pop from the 1980's. This is a second copy of mine and I’m trying to get rid of duplicates in my collection just for the sake of room. That being said, this is a tremendous EP. The title track is as gorgeous as English indie pop ever got. Swirling chiming guitars against a melancholic melody. It’s one of my favorite songs ever…seriously, and the good thing about this record is that you will have the best quality version of this song. It’s been included on Hot Rod Hotel, the East Village compilation CD but the version on that was mastered directly from this EP, not the master tapes (you can hear the stylus pick up on the semi-automatic turntable at the end of it; they couldn’t locate the master tapes!) So the version on the record sounds better if you have a good turntable/cartridge. The version on the compilations sound like there’s a bit of stylus mistracking going on. This record is in VG++/EX- condition (both sleeve and vinyl). There’s some light marks on the record but it plays very well and there’s a little bit of creasing on the sleeve, but overall it’s in great shape (see photos) and it’s quite a difficult record to locate. Outside of the pre-East Village band Episode Four’s Strike Up Matches EP, this might be the next hardest to find. Somehow I ended up with two. I am in the USA but will ship worldwide via eBay’s global shipping program (where I send it to an address in the USA and they do the rest of the work to get it to you).
