The Edgar Broughton Band, Sing Brother Sing. This is their second studio album released in May 1970. With the Garrod & Lofthouse front laminated Gatefold Sleeve in EX Condition, the Harvest Inner in EX Condition, the Lyric Sheet in EX Condition & the Record is in EX Condition. With great tracks from the Broughton's including; 'Old Gopher & Psychopath'. With the original Harvest Labels without the EMI box and the Gramophone Co rim text, the original A-3 B-3 Matrices & 1-P 1-GG Stampers of the first presses! Description
Original UK Harvest label stereo press LP.Sing Brother Sing was recorded during the second half of 1969 and released in May 1970. Recording began soon after their first album Wasa Wasa was released in July 1969 and was interspersed with extensive touring in the UK. The series of free concerts they staged during this time brought more publicity and notoriety. They also attempted to record their live sound at Abbey Road Studios in December, but only Out Demon's Out! was released as a single in early 1970. After this they returned to the studio and completed Sing Brother Sing their second album.
This is the original issue with the Gramophone Co rim text & no EMI box on the labels, the lyric inner and the A-3 B-3 matrices with the early 1-P 1-GG mother stampers.
The Garrod & Lofthouse front laminated gatefold sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some light corner/edge wear and some light laminate rubbing on the outer cover, the inner cover also has some light rubbing. The spine is intact & fully readable. The Harvest inner is intact, is slightly discoloured & in EX condition. The lyric inner is intact and in EX condition. The record is in visually EX condition, with only a couple of faint sleeve removal hairlines and one or two light needle scuffs visible on each side. The labels are in EX condition, clean & bright with evidence of a couple of faint spindle markings. The sound reproduction is EX, still clear & precise throughout with definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some low background noise during the run in grooves. Overall, a really great, loud and clear listen. The matrix nos. are; SHVL-772, A-3 stamper 1-P, B-3 stamper 1-GG. This is one of the early pressings of the original UK stereo issue of this iconic 1970 album.
