Description
Edgar Broughton Band-Wasa Wasa
1st UK Pressing with no EMI box on label. Yellow/green Harvest in fresh pressed condition with only a few spiderlines. No mottling or peelin. In lovely condition.
Vinyl
Early thick pressed with a heavyweight feel.No scratches and just one or two very light scuffs. Near perfect playing surfaces under ordinary conditions. In remarkable condition.
Sleeve
Thickly laminated front/reverse covers on an opening gatefold only seen on these very first presses.Very slight split on bottom edge of spine. Apart from that , sleeve appears virtually damage free and is graded excellent. A real beauty. E J Day printed and shows the earliest issue of this great album.Very hard to locate now in such a magnificent condition.
Audio
A solid excellent and tones are beautiful heard with clarity and warmth. Remarkable record.Reminds me very much of Beefheart with his cacophonous banter and continuous blurb . Recorded St Johns Wood,London.Engineered by Pete Bown. First press gives that extra loud cut and sounds brill. Amazing sounds to be heard and delivered at their very best.Guitar strings delivered fast and furious against Broughtons deep vocal interjections. Grooves very quiet giving little interference. Very good ++ at least, and I should really go one better as the audio is sensational.
Summary
A very first UK press in magnificent condition. One of Broughton’s best releases and presented in sensational style. Will find difficult to match and these first UK presses are becoming harder to locate now.A beautiful example and will prove a worthwhile investment. The pics give a true picture of the remarkable quality and the awesome appearance of this album.A stunning copy.
