Description
Collectors, here is a great disc, Edison Diamond Disc 52001, circa summer 1927. Two songs sung by the Dennis Sisters, with Dan Dougherty at the piano: "St. Louis Gal" and "That Little Old Shack (Where I Was Born). I found little information on the sisters: it sounds like there are at least three of them, and they made a few other records for Edison at this time. "Gal" is a very bluesy number, both sides are fun listens. As far as I can tell, neither song was issued as an Edison Blue Amberol record. The record plays very well with fairly minimal surface noise. There are no edge chips, and the labels are firmly attached to the record. Grab this record before I change my mind and add it to my personal collection (I am a St. Louisan), go for it!
