Description
This is the very very rare lost debut album by Elbow. Only a handful have ever come up online and very fe were printed as CDR's by the label or management. The band were signed to Island records after releasing their debut Ep. The band went to record the album at Peter Gabriel's Real World Studios with legendary producer Steve Osborne (Paul Oakenfold, Happy Mondays). The entire album wsas recorded and mastered and ready for release. During that process Universal was purchased and Elbow were a part of the culling of many artists. Elbow were almost signed by EMI but dropped at the 11th Hour. They released two EP's on Uglyman before being signed to V2 records. The debut Album 'Asleep In The Back' was released finally in 2001 on V2 records. The album was completely re-recorded by Ben Hiller apart from track 7 Newborn and Track 11 Can't Stop which were from the original Steve Osborne Sessions.
