Description
"Ole ELO" is the second compilation album by the Electric Light Orchestra covering their early years. Released in 1976, the LP was originally compiled by United Artists Records as a promotional album for American radio stations, but when copies of the LP started selling to fans "underground", United Artists decided to release it in the US to capitalize on the band's growing popularity. Original US United Artists pressings of the album contained the full-length versions of "Kuiama" and "Roll Over Beethoven", as included in the album "Electric Light Orchestra II". Original promotional copies were pressed on gold vinyl. Later US releases and CBS/Jet re-issues have included edited versions of these two songs. All tracks were written by Jeff Lynne, except "Roll Over Beethoven" by Chuck Berry. This is the 1976 Rare US "Gold Vinyl" Promotional pressing (Not For Sale) on the United Artists label. Catalog # is SP-123. There is no bar code matrix #. Vinyl is visually graded by Goldmine standards as NEAR MINT. There is still signs of wax still inside the spindal. Stunning condition for being 38 years old! Cover is graded as a EX+/EX++. I personally have NEVER PLAYED this vinyl, as colored vinyl is not known for their audiophile qualities. I like to collect them for their beauty, as I consider them to be "works of art". Record has been stored in a heavy duty anvil case since 2006 and comes from a smoke / pet free home.
