Description

Folksinger and idiosyncratic guitar player most well known for her song "Freight Train". "It is of interest to musicians that Elizabeth Cotten picks the regular guitar and banjo upside down, or left-handed, using country ragtime style (Wilson"s Rag), and a banjo strum on both guitar and banjo, using first string as thumb string, as well as many other arrangements of her own making." - insert notes. Originally released in 1958, apparently under the title "Negro Folk Songs and Tunes", I am guessing the title and cover art were changed in this version apparently from 1977. This copy of her first album is in near mint condition and includes the 4-page insert (which didn't change in this version).
