Description

This is the original RVG-etched deep-groove pressing of Elmo Hope "Informal Jazz" on the West 50th St. labels of Prestige 7043. The flat-rim playing surface is in extraordinary condition, with a high luster; an inaudible hairline scratch at the beginning of Side 2; perhaps played once or twice. The laminated West 50th St. cover has the original photo artwork and is bright and clean throughout, with just 1/8" wear at the bottom right corner. Personnel includes John Coltrane, Hank Mobley, Donald Byrd, and Paul Chambers.
