I have listed six Elton John 1970's UK 1st Pressing which are nearly all in Final Upgrade condition and will be coming off on Monday 19th August!

Here we have a lovely example of an original 1st pressing, from 1970 on the DJM label!

Honky Chateau was Johns 5th release and 1st pressing are hard to come by, especially in this near perfect condition!

This is the very 1st press with textured gatefold sleeve with 1st A2/B3 matrix endings and Rasputin and Bobil hand etched in the deadwax.

The 1st press sleeve for Honky Chateau opens and locks with a paper catch on the rear and as with all very 1st pressings; the picture on the front is pasted on and of a different material to the sleeve itself!

As with all the Elton John records I am listing, this record is in stunning MINT condition!

Sleeve Condition.

The 1st print textured gatefold sleeve is in superb condition!  There are no rips, tears, splits or writing to mention!  All the edges are straight and crisp with only the very mildest shelf wear to the spine which is still straight and readable.  The colours are as vibrant as they were on the day of release. The lock works just as it should! There are just 2 small marks on the spine that take it from a solid MINT to a Nr Mint.  It really is close to brand new!

Inner Condition.

The 1st press plain white inner with blue text is in pristine condition, with no writing, stains or splits to mention!  All the edges are nice and sharp and it holds the record perfectly as it should.

Label Condition.

The first press DJM labels are in fantastic condition.  There are no rips, rubbing, writing or stains to mention.  There is no centre hole damage at all.  Even under a strong light, not one spindle can be seen! Perfect!

Vinyl Visual Condition.

The record itself looks beautiful!  It still retains its factory shine and lustre with no scratches or warping at all.  Under a strong halogen bulb only the very slightest almost invisible removal lines can be seen and I hasten a guess that this record has never been played!

Vinyl Audio Condition.

The record sounds superb on all frequencies!  It’s a nice punchy and clear audio throughout! There was some slight static on the run ins and that was it! I heard no background noise, no loud pops or clicks, distortion or unwanted noise of any sort! It was a sharp, crystal playback! An audiophiles dream!

So there we have it.  A superb copy of one of the rarest 1st presses of Elton John’s Honky Château!!
