RARE Speakers Corner German Test Pressing

Only 30 Pressed: This is one of the rarest Elton records ever made!

 

In the summer of 1999 renowned all analog reissue label Speaker’s Corner issued Goodbye Yellow Brick Road as DJM DJLPD 1001. Their next project was Tumbleweed Connection. For unknown reasons it never made it past the test pressing stage. See the email included here which indicates this history and the fact only 30 were made for evaluation.

 

It’s a shame this never made it to the general public. The bass is huge on this pressing in comparison to the UK DJM original 1st press. If you are familiar with the other Speakers Corner’s projects of the era, notably Lou Reed’s Transformer, you have an idea of what you are in store for.

 

Condition:

 

Vinyl: NM high gloss, I see no post factory flaws, it’s been kept in a protective poly sleeve and only played a handful of times. VPI Cleaned x2.

 

Jacket: Generic white sleeve is VG++
