Description

Elvin Jones        Dear John C       stereo    Impulse 88 Van Gelder, foldout cover

Charlie Mariano (as), Roland Hanna, Hank Jones  (p), Richard Davis (b), Elvin Jones (d) Recorded 1965

Shallow groove and "Van Gelder" both sides.

The record looks and plays VG++.  No scratches.  Side 1 has some light scuffs which do not affect play.  Side 2 has two small marks that might be scuffs. They do not affect play.  Grooves do not show damage or wear.

The cover is VG+ to VG++.

The front cover is bright and glossy with light wear and hint of ring wear. The back cover has light to moderate wear with small area of laminate peeling at bottom near the pocket.  Spots of heavy wear at all the corners, but no split seams. Spine is readable and bright.  Inside foldout has moderate wear and there is a strip of mold staining across the top which is not too unsightly.

Black lines that might be visible at bottom left and top right in pictures are due to photo cropping and not on cover.

My highest grade is M- and I rarely grade 50s or 60s records M-. Records are graded visually using the Goldmine system. M-, VG++, VG+, VG, VG- etc. I play grade any potential problem areas.  I attempt to grade conservatively, listing all significant flaws. You will be satisfied.  No hassles.
