Description
Costello began his career as part of London's pub rock scene in the early 1970s and later became associated with the first wave of the British punk and new wave movement that emerged in the mid-to-late 1970s.
My Aim Is True is Costello’s debut album. The backing band was made up of members of Clover, but they were uncredited on the original release due to contractual difficulties; some early publicity for the album identified the backing band as The Shamrocks. I believe this is the original Western Germany Stiff Records release with blue lettering, black & white cover photo (Buddy Holly pose) & an orange back. See photos.
Grading: Vinyl – EX+, Jacket – EX (very minor corner dings), black paper Stiff Records inner sleeve.
Grading: Records are cleaned and “play graded” as follows.
Good – Record plays without any skips or repeats. Obvious pops and ticks exist, but none bad enough to prevent hearing/listening to the content.
Very Good – Some scuffs visible, but none are severe. Some ticks noticeable, mostly between tracks.
Excellent – May be a scuff apparent, but no ticks noticeable when played.
Near Mint – No scuffs or “usage marks” apparent. Appearance and sound indicate little usage.
Jackets (outer sleeves) are wiped with a damp rag and graded as follows.
Poor – Significant damage or missing parts. Described in product description.
Good – Jackets are “all there”, but may be noticeably damaged. Damage may include: torn seams, water damage, scuffs or tearing, “cat corners” (if you have cats, you know what I mean), etc. May have some repaired (taped) seems. Described in product description.
Very Good – No significant damage. Corners may be dented or scuffed. Slight “wear ring” may be noticeable. All text and graphics are easily identifiable. Minor seam splitting may be present. Described in product description.
Excellent – Little or no wear apparent. Minor corner dents may be present. Described in product description.
Near Mint – Looks like the shrink wrap was just removed. No dented or scuffed corners.
Price tags or identification markings may be present in any grade, noted in product description.
