Today's Auctions:  I recently bought a collecion from a friend that has been collecting Elvis for many years.  His albums are always in very nice shape as you will see with the albums today, most come from his collection.  If you love great original Elvis LP's, be sure and check this items, most are simply amazing pieces.   All items start at $9.99 with no reserves.  I also combine shipping with all multiple wins.  Check them out, some fine items!

A Closer Look:  Wow!  That is about the only word that describes this amazing album and its condition.  This is the original 1956 album that came out of November of 1956.  This one is the 'ad back' configuration and there were well over ten different backs and this is one of the rarest ones in my experience.  To make this even better this one is just in stunning shape, you pick up the LP and it feels brand new, beautiful edges, spine, front and back look new.  I will call it near mint, but is about as NEAR as you will ever see.  The record is also in amazing shape.  It too has some additional value to the normal release, in that it features prior to each song the word "Band" instead of the normal 1, 2, 3 etc.  This label is much rarer than the traditional format used by RCA in the day.  The record is also stunningly close to full mint, only issue is some very light spindle wear on one side. Also features the Elvis inner sleeve that has a Elvis blurb on the back.  Check your collections for this hard to find ad back, this one can take a permanent spot if you are locating it for the first time or upgrading an earlier find.  Stunning LP!

 Note on Packaging:    All items are in shipped in mylar resealable sleeves, the finest in the industry today. All records are packaged outside their covers to prevent any sort of ring wear from developing or seam splits in transit.

Rating Guide:

Mint (M):  Perfect in every way, looks to have never been played, should have that look just as it did when you pulled the record from the new cover at the time of original purchase.

Mint Minus (M-):  A nearly perfect record and cover.  This item should show no readily visible signs of wear,  covers and sleeves should have no more than nearly invisible rings or other signs of slight wear and vinyl should still be completely glossy and shiney, just the very lightest hint of wear if it is tilted to very bright light. 

Very Good Plus (VG+):  This record will show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled carefully by the previous owner.  Record surfaces will show some light signs of paper scuffing or light scratches, that don't affect the listening experience.  Slight warps that do not affect sound are OK.  This disc should still contain much of its original luster and sheen.  The covers and picture sleeves should also be in very nice shape, they may have light ring wear or other signs of wear, may have a small cut out hole, indention or stamping present.  Also there can be non obvious writing on the paper goods.

Very Good (VG):  Many of the defects found in the VG+ record and cover will be present but more pronounced in the VG item.  Surface noise will be evident, although the record should play through without skipping or repeating.  Groove wear will now be noticable, scuffing and light scratching will be appearent, a scratch now can be felt with a fingernail.  Labels will be marred with tape or tape residue, stickers or descret writing.  The same will be true for the LP cover or picture sleeve.

Good (G):  Good does not mean bad!  A record in good condition should be placed on a turntable and it should play through, all though the surface noise will be evident.  A cover or picture sleeve will have seam splitting, especially on the bottom seam or spine.  Also there will be noticable ring wear caused by the presence of the record.  The defects will start to overwhere this item.

Fair (F) or Poor (P):  This record will be cracked, badly warped, and will not play through without skipping or repeating.  The picture sleeeve or LP cover will show lots and lots of wear, the seams will be split on all three sides barely able to hold the record.  This item will appear near valueless, unless of course it is a rarity that may not be seen again.
