Released 1956 by RCA Victor. Cover is in Excellent shape, no tears or rips. Spine, Top and Bottom seam Excellent & Intact. Vinyl is in Excellent shape. Close to NM. Perfect labels. Truly a Rarity.

Released March 23, 1956, Elvis Presley's self-titled first album is the record that changed everything. The first rock and roll album to hit #1 on the Billboard charts, ten weeks at the top, and the first million-selling LP of the genre.
12 tracks drawn from Sun Studio sessions in Memphis, RCA sessions in Nashville, and new recordings cut in New York — rockabilly, R&B, and pop colliding in real time. "Blue Suede Shoes," "Tutti Frutti," "I Got a Woman," "Blue Moon," "Money Honey." Scotty Moore on guitar, Bill Black on bass, D.J. Fontana on drums.

This is an original U.S. first pressing on RCA Victor, released in 1956 and pressed during the initial commercial run.
The lacquers were cut in-house at RCA Studios in 1956 — confirmed by the G2 prefix in the matrix, denoting a 1956 cutting date. Side 1 carries stamper 6S, Side 2 carries stamper 5S — early stampers from the original lacquer generation, not a recut. Fewer generations from the master tape. This is part of why early copies of this record sound the way they do.
Black label, all silver print, "LONG PLAY" at the bottom — the label correct for 1956 original pressings, discontinued in 1963. "NEW ORTHOPHONIC" HIGH FIDELITY designation at right. Nipper dog in full color. Camden, N.J. rim text. This is not a reissue, not a later edition.
