Description
This is an auction for an Original copy of the HARD TO FIND 1959 LABEL DOG ON TOP EP release Elvis Presley - A Touch Of Gold (Volume 3) released in the USA.
The record itself (EPA-5141 Black label DOG ON TOP) is in VERY GOOD+ condition.
There are some visible marks/scratches but nothing too deep or drastic and this retains some of it's natural sheen.
The centre labels have some wear have some writing on Nipper on both sides(see photos)
The THICK CARDBOARD picture sleeve is much sought after and was listed in a U.S guide book back in 2016 as $150 in the condition it is in now (which I would say is EXCELLENT- / VERY GOOD+) for the sleeve alone!!!
This sleeve is in nice condition for the age.(see photos)
The only things that stops this from grading higher is some ringwear / scuffs , age discolouartion / staining. ( normally a lot heavier with this release!!)
There are NO SPLITS, RIPS, TEARS or WRITING. ( see photos)
The record is also stored in a separate paper sleeve to prevent anymore wear to this RARE sleeve!!
Overall 2 years ago this was valued at $350+(£230 approx) .
I don't have a current price guide but I would say at least £240+.
THIS WOULD SERVE AS A GREAT AFFORDABLE COMBINATION OF RECORD AND SLEEVE UNTIL THAT MINT $400+ (£320) COPY COMES ALONG!!!!
With a LOW START and NO RESERVE you might be able to grab yourself a bargain!!!
