Description
This is an Auction for an ORIGINAL 1957 HMV copy of The Best of Elvis.
This is a RARE and HARD TO FIND record and sleeve.
The Sleeve has a few minor rips to the left hand side, some discolouration to the sides ( i am not sure why, but i think this may have been taped to a wall or somehting, as there is no tape on the sleeve and it hasn't been used to repair the sleeve !)
There is some discolouration /ringwear to the rear and a name is written to the top left hand corner (see photos). There is also a small piece of the foldover flap missing at the bottom.
The 10" vinyl Looks visually VG+ with a couple of reasonably deep scratches on each side, but it does retain some nice natural sheen in places!.
The Labels are quite clean, However there is an initial m on side 1
This also comes with the Original white protective inner sleeve!
I made a few notes when i originally played this a few years ago and i wrote that there is a Jump on Too Much, 2 Jumps on Heartbreak Hotel and sound distortion in places.
I also wrote that there is some Excellent- sound in places!.
The matrix numbers are OXA 289-IN and OXAV 290-IN
Overall i would grade this as VERY GOOD.
The full track listing is as follows
Side 1. Heartbreak Hotel , I Don't Care If The Sun Don't Shine, Blue Moon, Tutti Frutti, All Shook Up.
Side 2. Hound Dog , Too Much , Anyway You Want Me , Don't Be Cruel , Playin' For Keeps .
A MINT condition copy of this would set you back a cool £360+.
Although this is NOT a mint copy , it is an affordable and acceptable collection filler until that Mint Copy Comes along!!!!
