ELVIS PRESLEY - "DOUBLE TROUBLE" (LSP-3787) - AN ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK RECORDING FROM 1967, WITH RARE SECOND COVER VARIETY!

RECORD:  VG+ with several light, superficial scratches. I played this record in its entirety and was amazed at the sound quality. The record sounded fantastic with no annoying "ticks", skips or surface noise! This Indianapolis record has very clean labels with just a few light spindle marks and matrix numbers that end with 7S/7S.  

COVER:  VG+ with beautiful surfaces and a smooth, fully legible spine. There is some spotted edge wear to the upper and lower seams, along with a 1-inch upper seam split (see photo). Some minor corner wear is also noticed. This is the very scarce, second cover for this issue as it does NOT have the "Bonus Photo" blurb in the lower film frame in the area between Elvis' heads. Once the supply of Bonus Photos for this album ran out by the end of 1967, the cover was revised, removing the blurb. So, a second "Double Trouble" (with the words transposed) was placed in that film frame as a suitable replacement for the verbiage in early 1968. These second covers are very scarce and command a respectable premium over the original issue. Jerry Osborne's "Presleyana VII" shows a Near Mint value of $175 for this cover. This is a very original cover with no tape, writing, staple holes or stickers whatsoever. A "must-have" for the collector who seeks completion in their set of Elvis Presley albums.
