ELVIS PRESLEY - ELVIS' CHRISTMAS ALBUM (LOC-1035). THIS IS THE ORIGINAL PRESSING FROM 1957 - A ONE-YEAR-ONLY ISSUE! THIS IS A NICE COPY THAT PLAYS GREAT FROM START TO FINISH! NO SKIPS! NO REPEATS!
RECORD: VG and is a Rockaway pressing with 3S/4S matrix numbers. Very glossy vinyl with some surface scratches that are not "feelable". Clean labels with just spindle marks present. I played this record in its entirety and the sound was remains amazingly clear with no annoying "pops" or static. Granted, this record is 57 years old, so expect some light, sporadic "ticks" along the way. Conservatory graded at VG. Near Mint copies of this album are valued at $500 according to Jerry Osborne's "Presleyana VII" (2012).
COVER: VG with no major splits. By that, I mean that the upper seam has just a 1/2-inch split from the open end (very minor) and the spine has a 5-inch split going from the bottom, up. This is the Gold-lettered spine variety. Silver is downright RARE. Other than that, there are some stress marks on the front, some edge & corner wear and some scratches that are not too noticeable. The bound-in photo album is complete, with no tears, writing or graffiti. It is fully intact and that in itself is very hard to find on these original Christmas albums! Again, I believe that this cover's VG grade, which I have assigned it, is conservative as many would probably call it VG+. This One-Year-Only issue is deserving placement in a high-end collection of original Elvis Presley records today!
