Description
You have the opportunity to bid on this EXCELLENT example of Elvis' first Long Play album release since being discharged from the Army, "ELVIS IS BACK!" (LPM-2231), released in 1960 in "Living Stereo" on the RCA Victor label. This is the Fifth and final Cover variety that I am listing. The record label shows Side 2, Track 4 shown as "The Girl Next Door". This scarcer "Living Stereo" record is very glossy, yet there are some very light, superficial scratches that should not hinder the listening enjoyment. The labels are very clean with just some spindle marks being the only detraction. This record has Matrix Numbers (Side 1): L2 WY 1967-3S and (Side 2): L2 WY 1968-2S. The cover is VG with the usual seam split along the bottom of about 5 inches. The Yellow Sticker on the front shows Side 2, Track 4 as "The Girl Next Door", as on the record label. There is some edge and corner wear along with some surface scuffing (or ring wear) from contact with other LP's over the decades. There are no other splits, writing, grafitti or tape present. A truly beautiful record and a nice cover that was obviously adult-owned all of its life! See the photos for multiple views of this record and the cover to judge for yourself.
This album will come with its original gray RCA Victor Inner Sleeve. The record will be shipped in an additional plain white sleeve and shipped with the record separated from the cover to prevent seam splits from the record sliding around during transit.
ABOUT ME
I am in the process of selling my collection of Elvis Presley records, which is 35 years in the making. I began collecting just after The King's untimely demise in 1977 and it just expanded from there. Prior to the internet, my collecting sources were "Goldmine", used record shops, estate sales and garage sales. I amassed a large collection First Pressings, everything except for the Sun Labels and a couple very rare 1968 monaural issues ("Speedway" and "Gold Records, Vol. 4"). Very few of the records that I am placing on ebay grade less than VG, as I have upgraded many records over the years. Now that I am 50, I am looking to reduce volume and keep mainly my 1970's material as I am partial to the "Jumpsuit era". I will be listing some post-1968 material (my duplicate records) as time goes on for those that are interested. Please note: I ship all records in cardboard record mailers and not those flimsy bubblewrap envelopes that offer no real protection against breakage.
