Authentic 1956 first pressing of Elvis Presley’s second RCA Victor LP “Elvis”, issued in October 1956. Features original black RCA “dog on top” label with “NEW ORTHOPHONIC HIGH FIDELITY” on right side and matrix prefix G2WP-7207/7208. Cover is the original first jacket with “LPM-1382 ELVIS ~ ELVIS PRESLEY” printed along the spine and RCA Victor logos at both ends of the spine. Back cover has the full-length liner notes and the “This is an RCA Victor High Fidelity Recording” box at lower left, with no “RE” or revision marks — confirming first issue.
This release followed the success of Elvis’ debut album Elvis Presley (LPM-1254), marking his rapid transition from Sun Records into national RCA fame. Includes classics like Love Me, Paralyzed, Ready Teddy, and Old Shep — a defining early portrait of Presley’s explosive 1950s sound.
