ELVIS PRESLEY ROCK N ROLL ORIGINAL RARE 1956 UK HMV VINYL LP CLP 1093.
First Press. Bought from a record dealer 10 years ago and stored carefully.

The sleeve is in good condition for its age. The cover has slight remains of sellotape down the edge of the sleeve in 3 areas- not very noticeable on the front. The rear of the sleeve has the remains of sellotape marks round all sides, a property label mostly removed and a slight surface mark to the right as in the pictures. The laminate is pretty good all round.
The inner sleeve is a modern replacement without any plastic lining to prevent oxidisation.
The vinyl is also in good condition for its age. Both Red and Gold HMV labels on the LP are really excellent.  I have cleaned the LP on a professional cleaning machine and it looks shiny and generally very good. It only has light surface scratches here and there which do not make noticeable clicking or popping sounds when played. The album does not mis-track, jump or skip. I have checked this before listing on my state of the art deck and system and find it plays very well but there is surface noise and some crackling over many of the tracks - mostly noticeable in the intervals before and in between the tracks. Have to say, of course, my system does amplify minor faults, and I send many used copies back to my record shops to exchange.
For the age of the recording and being played by Dansette type players in the past, I would say the actual playing and listening to this classic recording is a pleasure.  The surface is only a minor problem and if you want to concentrate on the songs and that magic voice it seems to fade to the background.
If you want a classic, collectable album, this is worth your consideration. If you want a modern, "perfect" CD, stroll on by...
