ELVIS PRESLEY - “FROM ELVIS IN MEMPHIS” (LSP-4155), A FIRST PRESSING FROM 1969 IN SHRINK WRAP WITH ORIGINAL SHRINK STICKER! RECORD: VG+ with many very light surface scuffs & scratches. none of these can be felt with the fingertip, however. The surfaces remain very glossy in spite of these hairline scuffs. I believe that this Indianapolis pressing will play very well. Being that it is an Indianapolis pressing, the labels are "flat" and not "Deep Groove" like the vast majority of Rockaway and Hollywood pressings. Some collectors refer to these "flat" labels as "non-flexible" vinyl as opposed to "Rigid Vinyl", even though it is almost a signature of Indianapolis on these pre-"Dynaflex" issues. The Orange labels are very clean, exhibiting much eye-appeal in spite of some strike-doubling in the print. This album, called "Elvis' best" by many critics, was released in June of 1969 and includes the hit single, "In The Ghetto / Any Day Now". The matrix numbers end with 5S/6S. COVER: VG++ (EXC) and completely enshrouded in its original shrink wrap! The Red Shrink Sticker announcing "Special Bonus! Full Color Photo Of ELVIS Inside This Album" remains fully affixed to the shrink wrap. There are also a total of FOUR store stickers on the front; a price of $4.98, another price of $3.67, the Sears price sticker of $3.67 as well as another sticker off to the upper left corner with a code number of "430". The only reason that this cover does not quite make NM is due to some edge scuffing at the open end. In spite of this very minor detraction, this cover would be highly prized by any collector of high-end Elvis Presley records and/or memorabilia. INNER SLEEVE: The original "ELVIS' Great LP Catalog" (40D) sleeve from the era. A couple of tears and edge splits are noticed.
