Description
This is an auction for an Original copy of the HARD TO FIND 1956 EP release Heartbreak Hotel manafactured in the USA.
The record itself (EPA-821) is in VERY GOOD+ condition retaining some of it's natural sheen with some visible marks/scratches but nothing too deep or drastic.(see photos)
Although this was manafactured in the USA this was exported / imported to Europe ( I believe for the Scandanvian or German market but sadly I dont know the full story) however due to some form of copyright issues the word Victor from RCA Victor was was not allowed to be used and the Nipper image was not supposed to be on the labels.
With that in mind a sticker was produced to cover the RCA Victor on the front with the Silver band RCA Records and Nipper had to be either shaded in or a sticker was also produced to go onto the record label.
This version Nipper was shaded over with black pen and is still visible underneath ( to see the mega rare stickered version please look at my other items and the Follow That Dream variant)
The Silver lined centre labels are still quite bright and have NO WRITING AS SUCH but you can see the shading over Nipper (see photos)
The THICK CARDBOARD picture sleeve is much sought after and again due to the Victor Issue there was a sticker produced to go over the top on the front. ( Look at my other items where you will see the original USA pressing with the cover as it should be)
The sticker ( without Victor) has been placed over the top on the front to cover both Victor and Nipper.
The sleeve has some issues with tape, tape marks and a name and partial seam splits and serves only as a collection filler of this MEGA RARE Oddity!!
THIS RARE VARIATION IS THE ONLY COPY OF THIS I HAVE EVER SOLD IN OVER 20 YEARS OF SELLING!!
I have no idea as to value of this rarity, so i will start it low and let ride the duration of the auction.
The record is also stored in a separate paper sleeve to prevent anymore wear to this RARE sleeve!!
With a LOW START and NO RESERVE you might be able to grab yourself a bargain!!!
