Description

An original Xmas 1963 pressing on UK RCA red spot label. Please note that HAWAII charted throughout 1962 - a big big seller. This copy comes two years after 1st release. Note the tax code "MT" which dates the record to 1963. Matrix 1B/1B - 1st cut. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original mono cover with pinched spine. We also have an original Decca inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In great condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks per side - nothing troublesome though. I tend to find a lot of original Elvis copies are distinctly average. Even decent looking copies nearly always disappoint. But I'm pleased to report that this copy is of a different pedigree. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback. By and large a really nice clean player - and that's what's so difficult to source. Plays clean even into the perennially played to death 'Can't Help..'. Not perfectly clean in all moments - but it is 95% clean. You might detect a few isolated crackles in one spot per side [e.g. No More]. But let me assure you this is an extremely good strike rate. You won't find a better playing copy with out a considerable search.
Cover (Ex-) Just like you find with the vinyl Elvis covers also tend to get murdered over time. But someone's been real careful with this one. Lovely clean and flat front with no creasing or laminate lift. Worth noting the colours seems to be well preserved too. The rear usually tarnishes and exhibits a lot of wear. But this example is looking pretty darn tidy. Just the faintest evidence of ageing at the extremities - but 90% of copies will not be looking this dandy. Very little surface wear or tarnishing at all. Overall - really tidy. Hardly any edge wear and the openings are still sharp. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) A bit of ageing. Bag present. No splits.
