Description
I have decided (sadly) it is time to sell my Elvis Vinyl collection.
The records I have are all original first press in excellent condition and took me several years to find. I will do my very best to give an accurate description (I will not exaggerate their condition). I am not a dealer so please bare with me on the descriptions.
The second album up for auction is,
Loving You, RCA RC 24001, Mono, released August 1957.

This is a genuine “First Pressing” we can tell this for several reasons but the main one being that only the 1957 pressings had “parallel lines” on the labels, the next pressings in 1960 and 1961/62 and 63 did not.
In order to give a more accurate description (besides the photographs, of course I have decided to use the grading system, below.
The sleeve I would grade as EX.
The sleeve has very minor corner rubbing, virtually no creasing and there is only one small piece of laminate which is just starting to lift approx size is 10mm x 5mm on the front opening edge. The rear of the sleeve is virtually unmarked. This also comes with the original inner sleeve which is intact and unmarked.
The vinyl I would grade EX.
Looking under strong light there are virtually no marks on the vinyl and there is no spindle rash. Listening to the record on a Project Debut 3 turntable (a sensitive turntable) it sounds great to me, though some slight background noise can be heard, absolutely no clicking or jumping.

This release was significant in several ways. First of all it was Elvis’s first RCA LP in the UK and his first 10 inch LP. Many people believe that The Best Of Elvis, HMV DLP 1159, came before this but, in fact it was released two months after Loving You. It was also the LP which had the fewest tracks of any Elvis album - a mere eight. It contained the seven songs featured in the film Loving You - though not in the order they appeared - and one extra track True Love.

This book in itself is a rare collectors item (luckily I have a near mint copy of this).
The vinyl has been stored in a Maher anti-static sleeve and then in a card sleeve and finally an anti-dust sleeve, the record sleeve has been stored separately in its own anti-dust sleeve with a card stiffener.
The album was stored upright away from sunlight and heat using dividers in a KAM 25/57 Case Record Box.
The album will be despatched with these sleeves (as above) obviously with extra protection. I will only post this album via “special delivery” or “Signed For” depending on the final bid price, and only to the UK.

Record Collectors Grading system
Mint (M) The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet. booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records marked as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
Excellent (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
Very Good (VG) The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects is acceptable
Good (G) Te record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc
Fair (F) The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
