Description
Original first pressing, with three push marks on label, Sun Records #U-141. Matrix numbers scratched into dead wax U-141-45 72.
PLEASE NOTE: The condition on this record is G-! Visually graded at G- and play graded at G-. I am an avid record collector and dealer, do not bid on this hoping that this record will be a better grade than the low grade I am giving this 45. Poor condition, but an original Sun Records first press.
There are large scratches, lots of scuffs, and damage to labels.
There is a small crack (See picture of crack) about 1/2 inches.
No warp, record is nice and flat. Vinyl still has an ok shine.
This record plays with surface noise. (That Sun Records hiss is really loud on this copy.) the crack doesn't seem to effect play much, but it does produce a pop on side two. No skips. It was obviously played lots of times with a steel needle, it might have been in a jukebox. The music is audible, plays all the way through with some pops and a LOUD hiss. If it didn't have such a loud hiss I would give this a higher play grade!
THIS IS A WALL HANGER COPY. A wonderful artifact from the history of Rock and Roll. It would be great for framing as a display copy.
I found this at a Los Angeles estate sale recently. Also included with this record is an original offset printed fan club picture of Elvis and the original owners, "Letter to Elvis"! It has original period clippings and is typewriter written. It is dated 1958. Letter and picture are 8x10 inches in size. Also included is an original 1 inch tin Elvis fan club badge. What I have up for auction is the start of an amazing 1950s Elvis display for framing.
