ELVIS PRESLEY My Happiness RECORD STORE DAY 2015
10-inch Facsimile of the original acetateElvis Presley’s 1st ever recording was put down on wax in June of 1953 at Sun Records’ Memphis Recording Service. The original acetate and only only known copy of this recording recently sold for over $300,000 on what would have been the singer’s 80th birthday. The buyer remained anonymous until they were revealed to be none other than Jack White.
Now, the full scope of his plan is revealed in the special ‘facsimile’ Record Store Day 2015 issue of My Happiness. And if, by chance, you find yourself in Nashville on the 18th, the original acetate will also be on display at Third Man Records.
