Description
"Mystery Train" b/w "I Forgot to Remember to Forget" by Elvis Presley with Scotty & Bill. This is the original Sun 45, not a re-pressing or pirated version, the ORIGINAL, #223, recorded July 1955. "Mystery Train" is in VG condition. Plays without distortion; only non-instrusive light surface noise. Some light scratches and scuffs, but these are merely cosmetic. Side shows only minimal graying. "I Forgot to Remember to Forget" is in VG condition. Slightly more surface noise and crackle than on "A" side, but still not enough to reduce the grade. Music comes through clearly with only light surface noise. Main concern with this disc is the label, which was carved out a little more than was necessary. Disc is not out-of-round when centered properly against the un-cut area. (see scans) As copies of #223 are concerned, this is an above-average example, with the music still quite enjoyable.

Important addendum. I have examined this record and cannot identify the pushmarks on the label that absolutely guarantee that this is an original Sun pressing. Inscribed in the run-off grooves in the wax on each side are: 45-U156X and then a 20 and 45-U157X and a 20.
