Description
This is an auction for an ORIGINAL copy of the EP release of ELVIS PRESLEY - Elvis Volume 1 released in the USA.
The record itself (EPA 992 dog on Top) is in VERY GOOD+ condition with some visible marks/scratches (none too deep) and retains some of it's natural sheen.(see photos)
The labels are bright and have NO WRITING on the labels (see photos)
This is also the 1st pressing of this RARE 1956 issue as indicated by the 1s in the trail off.
The THICK CARDBOARD picture sleeve is much sought after and was listed in a U.S guide book back in 2016 as $55 in the condition it is in now (which I would say is VERY GOOD+ / VERY GOOD) for the sleeve alone!!!
This sleeve is in reasonable condition for the age.
This sleeve has NO TEARS.
There is a complete seam splits along the top and bottom ( effectively making it a gatefold) and on the inner there is a lot of pencil marks. ( hence the lower price)
This also has the added charm of having the shop price stamp on the rear of the cover ( $1.29)
This is a really affordable collection filler until that MINT £80+ copy comes along.
The record is also stored in a separate paper sleeve to prevent anymore wear to this sleeve!!
Overall 2 years ago this was valued at $75 (£61+ approx) .
I don't have a current price guide but i would say at least £62
With a LOW START and NO RESERVE you might be able to grab yourself a bargain!!!
