Might be of interest to someone who has a worn original copy and is looking to find a better playing/preserved VINYL.
AND - could also be worthy of consideration if you're someone looking to BUILD an original copy. A full-blown complete copy is going to set you back big $$$. But worth thinking about snagging a super original vinyl and then picking up the cover at a later date. Two versions of the scalloped original cover were printed in the UK across 1956-57. So, there will be copies out there if you're patient. Will ship in a MOFI inner sleeve for safety.
An original 1st issue of the Elvis debut from early 1957. Matrix 1N/1N. Stampers 1GD/1GH - from the 1st mother [which is way cool]. First released late in 1956 it would have still be selling in early 1957. Tax Code 'XT'. Heavy pressed with Emi quality, '1N' 1st cut, 1st mother stampers. REMINDER - We DO NOT have the cover. What we do have is the original 'Take Good Care' inner which is correct for the time of release.
Vinyl (Ex-/Vg+) We are grading strict to avoid any sort of disappointment. The audio on this original copy is going to knock the socks off most cats. Given the vintage and that this is Elvis - I think this copy is pretty darn swell. It has seen some use for sure - but it has not been overplayed or abused. A few light marks per side, and one semi-feelable mark side 1 [which does sound briefly see description]. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly NEAR EXCELLENT level of playback with one deviation. Loving the audio - pretty clean by and large. High frequencies in 'That's All Right' - are INTACT! Even when you go into acoustic tracks like the super fussy 'Counting On You' it is clean [smart!]. There is, however, a mark in this particular track which does cause 5-6 ticks early on. Would be better without [obviously!], but it's really the only noticeable issue across the entire LP. Maybe a couple of errant ticks in one spot. Now, I'd argue that is still a very fine strike rate. There is a heck of a lot of EARLY Elvis playing clean and sweet. Highly recommended. Given this is '56 vintage the audio is total knock-out. I really think it would be very hard to replicate this level of preservation on what is a bench mark RnR title.
