ELVIS PRESLEY - “SPEEDWAY” (LSP-3989), A MUCH SCARCER ORANGE LABEL, RIGID VINYL PRESSING OF THE 1968 ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK RECORDING RECORD: VG with much original gloss showing among the many light surface scuffs and scratches. None of these can be felt with the fingertip and this Indianapolis pressing played through in its entirety, without any skips or repeats. Of course, there were some audible "ticks" in some areas, however. This Indianapolis pressing is the much more scarce Orange Label issue on Rigid Vinyl and is therefore, a second pressing. First pressings with the Black Labels, Dog On Top with "RCA Victor" logo in White, are much more common. These labels are without any writing or unwanted stickers, but do show some light spindle marks. This Original Soundtrack Recording was released in June of 1968 and includes the hit single, "Let Yourself Go / Your Time Hasn't Come Yet, Baby". Also included, is a track performed entirely by Nancy Sinatra, "Your Groovy Self". The matrix numbers on this record end with 2S/1S, respectively. COVER: VG++ (EXC) with approximately 95% of the original shrink wrap remaining! There is a tear in the shrink on the back side and a small section to the upper right corner area on the front has torn away. The spine as well as the upper and lower edges are smooth and solid. Some very minor wear is seen at the corner tips at the open end. Aftermarket price sticker remnant is noticed to the upper right corner. At some point, part of this sticker was removed, resulting in a tiny paper pull from the slick (pink square of the "checkered flag" design). This is a very attractive cover! INNER SLEEVE: The original "ELVIS' Great LP Catalog" (40D) sleeve from the era.
