RCA was promoting some of their famous recording stars at that time. And, of course, Elvis was the most famous in 1957 with the release of his new movie, Jailhouse Rock. This record was sent to record dealers throughout the United States. White label and promotional issue only. Two songs by Elvis are Jailhouse Rock and Treat Me Nice. Both of these songs appear on one side. Other songs on the same side are: The Old Rugged Cross and Old Time Religion by Stuart Hamblen. Also Every Hour and Every Day by Statesman Quartet. On the flip side of Elvis' 2-songs are: A Slip of the Lip and Welcome Mat by Kathy Barr; Just Born and Ivy Rose by Perry Como; Sayonara and That's the way it Goes by Eddie Fisher. It was unusual that RCA would put two rock songs such as Jailhouse Rock and Treat Me Nice on the same side as basically religious songs. However, Elvis was such sensation for RCA, they could not wait for this advanced recording to get in the hands of RCA dealers and record shops throughout the land. This is a 50-year old record, but still in very good shape. No major scratches or writing on record.
