Description
Elvis Presley
Self Titled 1956 RCA Debut LP Release
As always thanks for considering this addition to your record shelf.
A true Rock ‘N Roll “relic”.
Released in 1956 as Elvis Presley’s very first 12” ‘Long Play’ this is an RCA first pressing featuring the lime-green and pink box at the upper - right - front of the iconic cover.
Condition of both the cover and record are as follows.
Vinyl:
It has been play tested and sounds great. There are plenty of surface marks but nothing that can be felt when running your fingers over the surface. It plays way better than you would think at first glance. Those early well pressed albums with deep grooves really protect the music found down there. I ran it through a VPI record vacuum cleaning machine and “wow”, all the rice crispy sounds that I thought were part of the groove are gone. Sometimes a deep clean can be dramatic and luckily that was the situation here.
Cover:
Still has appeal. Not beat or trashed but does have seem splits at both the top and bottom from the right side. They both run about halfway. The spine is still intact and legible (see pic).
Since this copy is not sealed I’ll forget about asking for a grand and price this rich piece of Rock ‘N Roll history accordingly. Seriously speaking it’s still got a ton to offer sound wise and the cover is just acceptable for my (and hopefully your) collectability.
Selling a big part of my personal collection accrued over 5 decades. Will be listing a few auctions/items weekly. Some very rare BEATLES items among MANY OTHER artists. Please check in from time to time and see what Rarities and Odd pressings I’ve listed from this extensive collection.
