My standard disclaimer about vinyl: As with all vinyl records, there will be at least some pops, clicks and other surface noise even on brand new and unplayed records, so do not expect flawlessly pristine CD sound quality. I grade on the following scale: Like New, Very Good (some flaws, nothing major), Good (more noticeable flaws, but still acceptable), Fair (looking pretty bad, but not a total disaster) and Poor (really horrible with major defects).

DETAILS ABOUT THIS AUCTION:

This is the vintage and collectible LP vinyl record album soundtrack for the Elvis Presley movie SPEEDWAY, which also featured Nancy Sinatra. (She duets with Elvis on "There Ain't Nothing Like a Song," and she also sings "Your Groovy Self.")

The shrinkwrap on this copy has been opened at the edge to get the record out, but it has not been removed from the sleeve. Note that although a red sticker attached to the shrinkwrap says "Special Bonus: For a limited time only, Full Color Photo of Elvis Inside This Album," this copy does NOT come with that photo (unfortunately). The original Thrifty Cut Rate Drug Stores price sticker (only $3.74!) also is attached to the shrinkwrap, not to the record itself.

This is on the RCA Victor label, catalog number LSP 3989 Stereo. The number in the runout groove on Side One is WPRS-1036--8S, separated by a lot of space from an H; the number in the runout groove on Side Two is WPRS-1037--7S, separated by a large space from an H.

While the jacket is in very nice shape, note that the vinyl record (and the record labels) has a lot of marks and scuffs and is in POOR condition. It is extremely "crackly," with heavy surface noise and some areas with skips. Seriously, the reason to bid on this auction is for the record sleeve, NOT for the poor condition record that's in it!

Overall condition: Although the outer jacket is in Very Good Plus condition and nearly Like New, the record inside is in POOR condition.

Outer Jacket Record Sleeve: Very Good, nearly Like New except for a tiny bit of corner wear. Note that the red sticker (with text about the color photo) has some "age spotting" (see close-up photo). Also, it's interesting that the catalog number on the front of the record sleeve (at the top left corner) is LSP-3989, but at the top of the spine it's only SP-3989 (with no "L").

Record: POOR condition, with lots of scratches, marks, scuffing, fingerprints, spindle impressions and marks on the labels, and some areas with skips, locked grooves and other problems. Just about the only positive things I can say about the record are that it isn't cracked or on fire. Consider the record only a place holder until you find a better copy that you can put into this copy's nice-condition sleeve!

Inner sleeve: Vintage paper inner sleeve (showing other RCA Victor records) is in really great shape, with only some small creases and no splits, but it does have this one notable flaw: A previous owner wrote the words "Loving You" in the top left corner of one side in green ink (see close-up photo). I have no idea why that person would have written that song title there, considering the song isn't even on this album!

Add only 50 cents for each additional auction of mine after the first that can be shipped by Media Mail (which includes records, CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays and books, but not comic books).
