Erik Lorentzen, Norwegian author of The Elvis Files, and many other interesting books, including the recent 'Elvis In Toronto' book is a collaboration with photographer Keith Alverson. Keith heard Elvis for the first time on the radio when he was only four. Apparently he had as a toddler appropriate persuasion, because the same day his mother surprised him with the single "Hound Dog". Not entirely illogical perhaps because Keith's parents were both convinced Elvis fans.
Keith grew up with the music of Elvis, although he never thought he would ever see amazing singer live, let alone make the best pictures. Shooting was a hobby for Keith. When he got the chance to experience a live concert early 70s, he secretly smuggled his little pocket camera it inside. One of the first Elvis' concerts which saw Keith was in Atlanta in July 1973. He then saw Elvis still about 85 times live on stage, and made beautiful pictures.
Erik Lorentzen and Alverson go about 1400 pictures now join in a new book. Part one of "Strictly Elvis' will include photographs from the period 1973-1975 and will be published in August this year.
