Scarce genuine MINT 1973 UK FIRST PRESSING 10-track vinyl LP debut by the master of sound manipulation in pop, issued on the pink rimmed Island 'palm tree' label. Includes the wonderfully eccentric 'Baby's On Fire' and 'Dead Finks Don't Talk'. The immaculate Mint condition record looks and sounds like the day it was made and the cover and inner sleeve are both in Excellent Plus Condition. See pics. A very nice collector’s play-copy of this 70s classic.

This is the extremely rare real thing: a genuine Mint 1973 UK first pressing. The record is in ‘as new’ condition and the cover and inner sleeve are both in Excellent Plus condition. All items are free from any major defects. See pics. All items are the genuine originals bought together by me in 1973, not reprints or replacements. The LP is the original 1973 UK stereo LP, which was only played once or twice on top-end audiophile equipment and lovingly cared for.

Here Come the Warm Jets is the debut solo album by Brian Eno, credited only as "Eno". Produced by himself, it was released on Island Records in 1973. The musical style of Here Come the Warm Jets is a hybrid of glam rock and art rock, similar to Eno's previous album work with Roxy Music, although in a stronger experimental fashion. In developing the album's words and music, Eno used unusual methods such as dancing for his band members and having them play accordingly, and singing nonsense words to himself that would form the basis of subsequent lyrics. The album features various guest musicians, including members of Roxy Music, Hawkwind, Matching Mole, and The Pink Fairies, as well as Robert Fripp of King Crimson, who collaborated with Eno a year before on (No Pussyfooting).
Here Come the Warm Jets peaked at number 26 on the United Kingdom album charts and number 151 on the U.S. Billboard charts, receiving a number of positive reviews. It was re-issued on compact disc in 1990 on Island Records and in 2004 on Virgin Records, and continued to elicit praise. Critic Steve Huey of Allmusic stated that the album "still sounds exciting, forward-looking, and densely detailed, revealing more intricacies with every play".

Eno's solo debut, Here Come the Warm Jets, is a spirited, experimental collection of unabashed pop songs on which Eno mostly reprises his Roxy Music role as "sound manipulator," taking the lead vocals but leaving much of the instrumental work to various studio cohorts (including ex-Roxy mates Phil Manzanera and Andy Mackay, plus Robert Fripp and others). Eno's compositions are quirky, whimsical, and catchy, his lyrics bizarre and often free-associative, with a decidedly dark bent in their humour ("Baby's on Fire," "Dead Finks Don't Talk"). Yet the album wouldn't sound nearly as manic as it does without Eno's wildly unpredictable sound processing; he coaxes otherworldly noises and textures from the treated guitars and keyboards, layering them in complex arrangements or bouncing them off one another in a weird cacophony. Avant-garde yet very accessible, Here Come the Warm Jets still sounds exciting, forward-looking, and densely detailed, revealing more intricacies with every play.
