Description

Contradictory to many sellers/collectors believe (or want you to believe!), these great Szell recordings were done by US Columbia, then licensed to UK Columbia, not the other way round! Out of Szell's insistence, Columbia used 5 of the AKG omni microphones he bought from Europe. That perhaps explains why his recordings are superior to other Columbia's work with many spot microphones! These Epic (division of Columbia) pressings typically are more vivid than the typically somewhat reserved early EMI pressings. 

Record condition: EX+/NM- (a couple light scuffs, plays very well)
