Description

Description: 45 RPM record of Eric Mercury & the Soul Searchers on SAC 0001, Lonely Girl / Lonely Girl Pt. 2. Date: 196? Condition: The visual grade of the record is in the upper end of VG because of numerous light surface scratches to the record. Side one has one light needle drag that you can just catch with a fingernail. Side two has a nasty-looking scrape which you can feel and a light scuff next to it which cannot be felt. Both of these are shown in the third scan above.

The labels show some slight wear and soiling.

I think the record plays better than VG. Lonely Girl is fairly clean until in the fade out there are some light clicks. Lonely Girl Pt. 2 has a click just as the track begins and then has more softer clicks during the long instrumental intro. All of these clicks were much more noticeable before I cleaned the record so it may be possible to clean it further and diminish them. Initial cleaning was done using the Spin-Clean system and additional hand-cleaning using the Disc Doctor cleaning fluid gave further improvement.

Judge the sound using these links. The mp3s were created using the least amount of compression possible.

Comments: Recording information: Turntable was an older Thorens TD 160 Super with a Premier T3K arm and an Ortofon Super OM 20 cartridge. The signal was sent through a Carver C-5 Preamp and then to the sound card of a Macbook Pro laptop computer. The recording was in mono using Amadeus Pro software. Conversion to mp3 was done in Amadeus Pro. No declicking or denoising was done. Shipping: Shipping may be calculated from the link below for both domestic and foreign buyers. Note that although I've listed a 15 day handling period most items will ship within a day or two of payment. However, sometimes my day job interferes. (Currently I'm a visiting professor at a local university and every day can be an adventure.)

Discounts:

I combine orders to save on shipping but you need to wait for me to send you a bill. This applies to domestic & foreign.

Wait for a Bill!! My software program that I use for creating listings seems to have limitations and won't let me list free shipping for the US and still charge for foreign shipping which is more expensive.

Foreign Shipping: More expensive items need to be sent by a more expensive method so that I can track the shipment. If I give free shipping to the US, I will give foreign buyers a discount equivalent to the US shipping cost. Wait for a bill.
The higher the final price of the item is - the more of the shipping costs that I will pay - including free. Since this is often hard to figure, please wait for a bill at the end.
Foreign buyers will be responsible for any customs fees or taxes. Note that there may be customs delays that are outside of my control
