Description
"Escape From LA" (Amphetamine Reptile Records AmRep 129) is a rare split 10” vinyl record that was available at live shows during the Melvins and Redd Kross 2019 tour.
According to a page I’m reading online, this record was released in a numbered limited edition of 500 (mine is #155, according to the stamp on the back of the sleeve). The Melvins side of the record includes the songs “Ghost on the Highway” and “Charlie.” The Redd Kross side includes “Octavia” and “Duece.”
The cover is silkscreened on a brown chipboard sleeve, with cover art by HAZE XXL.
My record was played maybe three times, tops, and it’s been stored in a plastic sleeve since the night I drunkenly slapped down my money on the Melvins’ merch table. There are no issues with the sound or the sleeve. The vinyl is clear with red and green splatter. (See photos)
(I’ve read that some copies of this record came with a bonus “MELVIN’S DONUTS” sticker. Unfortunately, there was no sticker in my copy.)
